Not sure whether it is 7 or 8 mm bolts I think it is the coarse thread. have no way of measuring the threaded hole. Impossible to find left hand threaded metric bolts where I live. Anyone know where I can purchase these?

The local Ace hardware will order most anything they don't normally stock, although usually with a one box minimum (box of 50). ....

Have you emailed some of the fastener suppliers online about this? Maybe they can help. What's it for? As a last resort maybe you can drill it out and tap it oversize for an SAE size. ....

The other problem you're going to have is that in Metric threads there is no such thing as "course" of "fine". UNC and UNF are Imperial measures only.

The bolts are all sized according to a MAA X BB type designation, the AA being the size of the bolt in milimeters, the BB being the thread pitch, again in milimeters.

For instance, a 1/2" UNC would be ABOUT the same as a M14X2.0 but not interchangeable.

They do have reasonably standard sizes, if it is a 7mm it is likely a M7X1.0, and if it's 8mm, it's likely a M8x1.25 but there's no guarantees, there are LOTs of different combinations, and the fact it is a left-handed thread won't help any.

I've got a thread measuring device, you're welcome to run over and use it, come on up, LOL.

If you figure out what it is let me know, I'll drop one in the mail to you from up here in Metric-land. That should keep Homeland Security busy for a few days.

Best of luck. ....

I think it is a 8mm x 1.25 The right handones on the pump are 8mm x 1.25 and it looks to be about the same, I can find the Right hand thread but eveyone laughs when I ask for left hand. One dealer said it would have to be made up special. With the majority of Compressor pumps made in Europe or Middle east and Flywheels running CC it seems to me that they would be available. I did find on the Pump (Made in Italy)

Much to my suprise, Mcmaster-carr does not list left hand metric bolts. But they do have left hand metric threaded rod, (plain steel-low grade) and nuts (stainless and high grade)
Hope this helps ....

I'm not sure how far they are from you, but we deal with a supplier up here who has 2 US locations, one of them is in Michigan.

Bafasco
35906 Groesbeck Hwy.
Clinton TWP, Michigan
Tel: (586) 790-4400

If they don't have it they'll know where to get it I'm sure.

Best of luck.
